Spectrafranken HOLO!

Okay first off, sorry for just going MIA! It's been finals week and I left my camera back at my parents house... of course. But no worries, I have a GREAT post full of a ton of pictures today! And I'll start uploading old swatches I already took pictures of too!

Onto the post! For this mani I used a franken holo that I made out of some nail polish and spectraflair. A franken is just a custom nailpolish you make by mixing your own and spectraflair is a pigment used in automotive paints that can be bought to mix with nailpolish to produce linear holographic properties. In other words, it produces a smooth rainbow effect similar to GOSH, NfuOh and the China Glaze OMG line. It's kind of hard to find but sooo worth it! You should use caution when mixing however and use gloves and a mask for safety.

For my franken, I used about a 3/4 full bottle of clear polish, added some jelly blue to it and about 3 tiny strawful scoops of the spectraflair pigment. So my polish is semi-sheer but I like it this way so I can layer it over other colors or just build its own opacity with a few coats. It's SUPER holo, even indoors/in low light. Okay enough of me talking, onto the pictures!

In the shade:

In the shade, this is a nice dusty perwinkly blue..almost close to a denim color. Even though it looks like there is no holo here, there definitley is still a subtle rainbow IRL. The closest comparison would be the last picture. Unlike most holos that cast a gray/silver cast or shimmer to the nail polish in the shade, this one definitley still has a rainbow effect..just not as vivid.

In direct light/everywhere else:

HOLO-FRIKEN-GOODNESS! This is how the nail polish appears at most times. I literally could not stop staring at my nails the first day I put it on! And this picture is taken after FIVE days of wear! FIVE!! And not a single chip! WAY better formula than Nfu-Oh, which always manages to chip on me by the end of the day:(
And some pictures of the bottle. IRL there is definitley a linear rainbow you can see in the bottle. The best I could take a picture of it was on the bottom of the bottle. Isn't it super pretty?! Kind of reminds me of peacock feathers! I want to dump spectraflair on everything haha.

Ps. Idk why my pictures won't line up.. it's driving me crazy!! sorry:/
